With Auto-stretch, companies can allow their customers to test-stretch every stem, sample, and loop in their library pre-purchase, greatly diversifying the marketplace’s catalog for producers and creators, regardless of tempo and speed.
Supported by online music studio Soundation’s new feature that automatically stretches audio to fit the project tempo, marketplaces can embed the tool to their site to accommodate customers searching for audio with a particular BPM, greatly expanding the sounds available for their use. Auto-stretch will maintain the same key as the original piece of audio, but alter the BPM to stretch and fit a project.
“This tool greatly expands the samples, beats, and loops available to customers, enabling marketplaces to showcase a wider range of offerings without adding more audio to their site,” says Soundation CEO Adam Hasslert. “Auto-stretch comes highly requested by those familiar with traditional desktop DAWs. We have combined the strongest tools into both our platform and our Embed solution for music marketplaces, with feedback from producers and a careful consideration of their needs.”
Soundation has carefully assembled all the tools needed for musicians and producers to create high quality and dynamic projects, from the comfort of their own home setup. With the launch of the Auto-stretch tool, Soundation continues to provide industry grade tools, only previously available when working with a professional producer or with expensive home studio hardware and software. Producers can use Soundation and Auto-stretch to collaborate, dragging and dropping their samples into a joint project to get creative together. All samples will be auto-stretched to the project tempo, but can be manually edited, if need be.
This new tool will be available to audio marketplaces via Soundation’s embeddable studio, as well as to all Soundation users mixing with their free DAW. Companies offering these marketplaces can now showcase samples or allow users to test on a real DAW before purchase.
“Those using Soundation Embed will show off the full scope of their catalog and make it available for users interested in sampling or purchasing a piece of audio,” adds Hasslert. “There’s nothing like this out there yet, and we’re thrilled to help these marketplaces realize the full potential of their catalog for customers.”
Companies interested in Auto-stretch can reach out to the Soundation team at sales@soundation.com for beta access.
About Soundation
Every month, Soundation’s online music studio is used by over 100,000 creatives each month who produce music directly in their web browsers. Focusing on building the next-generation music software for newcoming music producers with high ambitions, Soundation offers a one-stop shop, including a multiplayer DAW, a vibrant online community, and learning tools. The company's mission is to facilitate musical creativity around the world. Soundation is headquartered in Stockholm.
Students aren’t often met with hands-on tools for expanding and experimenting with sound production in their music classes, despite the growing market of music production tools. For those students interested in music production, and those looking for a creative outlet to play with sound and learn a new skill, Soundation Education is the best way to learn music production and is an easy transition to other DAWs.
That’s why Soundation is launching their education platform to all teachers, including an all-new self-service dashboard designed to help teachers sign up and add students, while facilitating collaboration between students and teachers, ensuring that student data is secure, and helping to make sound production classes more accessible and enjoyable. With this dashboard, teachers can now facilitate multiple classes, add students to classes, manage class assignments, and prioritize learning goals with custom templates, all from Soundation’s platform.
Soundation is used for music mixing and creation by producers globally as a full-scale, browser-based Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). With interactive and simplified tools like Beatmaker, Soundation works with creatives at any stage of their musical journey. The team initially began working with schools in early 2023, to bring more accessible and versatile music production software to the classroom. With collaboration and ease of use at its core, the platform can accommodate each individual student’s needs, to make learning a more creative, hands-on experience.
“We have worked with teachers to test out our platform with their students, and are now releasing a full version with added elements to make this an even better experience for teachers and their students,” says Soundation CEO Adam Hasslert. “We want to equip the next generation with real life tools to inspire their creativity and development – teachers have reported back that Soundation is the best proper DAW and the best way to learn to produce music for real.”
“We chose Soundation Education for both the collaborative functionality and the extensive range of features. We like that Soundation Education provides the opportunity for students to unleash their creativity, apply and extend their learning in music, and to share their work in a secure and safe online environment,” notes Rachel McKinnon, Music and Drama Teacher at Fergusson Intermediate in South Auckland, New Zealand.
Soundation has established an affordable price plan to help support schools and learning. Costs are based on how many teachers are implementing the platform, not based on the number of students or accounts. Any computer with access to Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers can successfully use Soundation, and work is stored in the cloud. This means all students can experiment with sound and music creation, securely and inexpensively, growing their knowledge and cultivating passion with every project.
With streamlined collaboration, students can work with one another or with teachers on projects using Soundation’s DAW. In an industry that is increasingly interconnected and constantly evolving, it is important for aspiring musicians and producers to familiarize themselves with online collaboration. Collaborative learning in schools provides valuable skills to students and helps promote higher-level thinking, confidence and self-esteem in students.
“With Soundation’s online technology, schools have access to the same software used by producers across the world from every experience level,” adds Hasslert. “Young creators new to music production can use these tools, adapting them for their specific needs. Future music producers are gaining access to valuable experience as early as elementary school.”
After launching the dashboard feature, Soundation plans to continue developing the education platform, working to integrate classroom management platform Google Classroom. Soundation Education is compliant with COPPA, FERPA, and GDPR, making its resources as secure as possible.

Soundation is a web-based Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) where music creation is just one click away. Now, anyone can embed Soundation’s advanced music editing features on their own website to showcase sample packs, host remix competitions, or hold collaborative music production classes.
Soundation has now made it possible for any company or producer selling beats or sample packs to embed a DAW directly into their website, so users don’t have to leave the company’s site to test their products. Companies and producers create their projects in Soundation’s free online DAW, and can then embed this project into their website, where visitors can listen, play around with, and remix their track. Visitors will not make lasting edits that affect the next user or the original project, and don’t need to create an account or leave the website to use it.
While this unlocks many unique opportunities for testing before purchase and increased visibility for their content or tracks, this feature can also be used by music marketplaces for remix competitions or other use cases – Soundation is flexible to company needs, and since Soundation is a web app, the team can customize the user experience to fit the individual company’s unique needs.
“By adding a fully-equipped customizable DAW, websites will get a new tool that can help them increase the value they can give to their users and customers,” says Soundation CEO Adam Hasslert. “This hasn’t been available until now, but we see this as a real game changer for music tech companies, producers, and creators.”
After producers create the track they’d like to embed on their website, they can then customize how they would like the DAW to appear, including the thumbnail, headline, color scheme, and aspect ratio. Producers need no prior coding knowledge; they can copy and paste the code into a website builder like WordPress or Shopify, and preview how their project will appear. This is as easy as embedding a YouTube video to a website.
This is all supported through Soundation’s collaborative, cloud-based DAW that caters to producers in any stage of their musical journey. It is filled with royalty-free beats and all the tools necessary to create high-quality tracks online – and is free for all to use. Soundation also offers Soundation Education, a simple and collaborative online music studio for schools.
Soundation will also launch Workspaces, enabling music tech companies to create their own dashboards for their users to save projects and content. This feature will also be available for Soundation Education, so teachers can have different dashboards for different classes.

Producers can try out samples with a real DAW before purchase, within the ModeAudio site.
Soundation and ModeAudio have teamed up to make sample packs more available to everyone. Soundation integrates their DAW into ModeAudio’s pages, allowing producers to mix and manipulate samples before purchasing them, as they would in their native DAW after purchase. Soundation’s interface is similar to other desktop and browser DAWs, so producers will feel right at home as they test out samples from ModeAudio’s expansive library.
On the ModeAudio site, producers simply find a sample pack they like, and click a button to launch a window with a predesigned pattern in Soundation’s DAW. Here, producers can listen to and mix the samples – to truly test out packs they are interested in. Soundation will initially be integrated into five ModeAudio sample packs, with more likely to come.
“We’ve long wished to allow our visitors to try out our drum samples, in-browser, before deciding if a pack is right for them, which our Soundation integration makes entirely possible,” says Niall McCallum, Director at ModeAudio.com. “Beatmaker is an exciting tool that opens up our sample packs to users for an instant taste of their singular percussive firepower!”
ModeAudio has used Soundation's new instrument, Beatmaker, to load a beat pattern based on their packs and show the pack samples in a sidebar. Beatmaker works with producers at all experience levels. From the budding musician turned producer, to the experienced engineer, Soundation is simple to pick up, or expand on skills. Beatmaker simplifies creating a beat through an interface that turns sounds into blocks. Users simply tap a block to add the sound, and manipulate other sounds to their liking. Samples, including those purchased through ModeAudio, can be uploaded for a smooth mixing experience.
“This is a great milestone for music tech companies offering samples and plugins, as integrating a DAW expands the customer experience for producers and musicians,” says Soundation CEO Adam Hasslert. “Experimenting with sound is the first step to audio production, and we have made it easier to get customers started with this as they test new samples. Now any site can get their own DAW supported by Soundation.”
Companies can customize how Soundation’s DAW will work on their site or app. They can decide what region to load with which instrument, what sample packs to show the sidebar, and much more. They can even design custom product tours for each use case. Users then drag in their own samples, loops, and midi to test the samples before making a purchase decision.

Soundation will launch Soundation Education in January 2023, but schools and teachers can get set up now for the Spring semester. Students get Soundation for free, with schools paying based on the number of teachers using the tool.
Online music production tool Soundation presents Soundation Education, an affordable, easy to learn online music studio for schools that looks and feels like a real studio session. Students can collaborate in groups with other classmates on projects that are all safely and securely stored in the cloud and accessible to the teacher, while the teacher can prepare templates and lessons to distribute to their students’ accounts.
Soundation offers a refreshing, real-life learning experience that is engaging and relevant for students interested in producing music. Teachers and students can take advantage of Soundation’s extensive production toolset, including Beatmaker, audio effects, virtual instruments, real-time collaboration, loops and samples, recording and uploading audio, MIDI capabilities, plugins, and more. Soundation is available from desktop and laptop devices with Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers and is based in the cloud, so students can access it from home, as well as the devices provided by their school, regardless of what operating system they use.
“I have over 100 students across six sections of music appreciation, so Soundation is by far the most affordable option for me to bring digital music-making to my classroom,” says Maia Finkel, Choral & General Music Teacher. “The ability to assign templates is useful for giving students prompts and guidelines that allow them to express their creativity in a structured and focused manner, and the ability to create collaborative groups will help my students engage with one another to make music in a new and innovative way. I believe that using this software will make my curriculum more culturally relevant for my students, and will spark even more excitement in their music education!”
As one of the best ways to begin learning music production, Soundation is suitable for all grade and experience levels. Students can start with the basics, creating a looped sequence by highlighting blocks on the Beatmaker interface, and add new tools as they develop their skill-set. Users who have begun their production journey on Soundation and transitioned to a traditional desktop DAW have found it to be most helpful in preparing them for this next step.
“We hope to become the go-to education solution for schools and teachers interested in incorporating music production into their curriculum,” says Soundation CEO Adam Hasslert. “Our studio helps producers and musicians make better music, with the perfect application for teachers needing a collaborative and secure hub to inspire their students with digital music creation.”
Soundation Education was built to be safe and controlled for student learning. Data is protected and collaboration can only occur within teacher-controlled groups. Soundation Education is compliant with COPPA, FERPA, and GDPR. Classroom learning is affordable with Soundation, as they utilize a unique price structure that bills by teacher instead of by student or account.
“Students can discover the magic of music making, guided by their teachers and supported by our team here at Soundation. It’s all here and ready to inspire the next generation of music producers,” adds Hasslert.
