Every month, Soundation’s online music studio is used by over 100,000 creatives who produce music directly in their web browsers. Focusing on building the next-generation music software for newcoming music producers with high ambitions, Soundation offers a one-stop shop, including a multiplayer DAW, a vibrant online community, and learning tools. ...
Students aren’t often met with hands-on tools for expanding and experimenting with sound production in their music classes, despite the growing market of music production tools. For those students interested in music production, and those looking for a creative outlet to play with sound and learn a new skill, Soundation Education is the best way to learn music production and is an easy transition to other DAWs.
That’s why Soundation is launching their education platform to all teachers, including an all-new self-service dashboard designed to help teachers sign up and add students, while facilitating collaboration between students and teachers, ensuring that student data is secure, and helping to make sound production classes more accessible and enjoyable. With this dashboard, teachers can now facilitate multiple classes, add students to classes, manage class assignments, and prioritize learning goals with custom templates, all from Soundation’s platform.
Soundation is used for music mixing and creation by producers globally as a full-scale, browser-based Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). With interactive and simplified tools like Beatmaker, Soundation works with creatives at any stage of their musical journey. The team initially began working with schools in early 2023, to bring more accessible and versatile music production software to the classroom. With collaboration and ease of use at its core, the platform can accommodate each individual student’s needs, to make learning a more creative, hands-on experience.
“We have worked with teachers to test out our platform with their students, and are now releasing a full version with added elements to make this an even better experience for teachers and their students,” says Soundation CEO Adam Hasslert. “We want to equip the next generation with real life tools to inspire their creativity and development – teachers have reported back that Soundation is the best proper DAW and the best way to learn to produce music for real.”
“We chose Soundation Education for both the collaborative functionality and the extensive range of features. We like that Soundation Education provides the opportunity for students to unleash their creativity, apply and extend their learning in music, and to share their work in a secure and safe online environment,” notes Rachel McKinnon, Music and Drama Teacher at Fergusson Intermediate in South Auckland, New Zealand.
Soundation has established an affordable price plan to help support schools and learning. Costs are based on how many teachers are implementing the platform, not based on the number of students or accounts. Any computer with access to Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers can successfully use Soundation, and work is stored in the cloud. This means all students can experiment with sound and music creation, securely and inexpensively, growing their knowledge and cultivating passion with every project.
With streamlined collaboration, students can work with one another or with teachers on projects using Soundation’s DAW. In an industry that is increasingly interconnected and constantly evolving, it is important for aspiring musicians and producers to familiarize themselves with online collaboration. Collaborative learning in schools provides valuable skills to students and helps promote higher-level thinking, confidence and self-esteem in students.
“With Soundation’s online technology, schools have access to the same software used by producers across the world from every experience level,” adds Hasslert. “Young creators new to music production can use these tools, adapting them for their specific needs. Future music producers are gaining access to valuable experience as early as elementary school.”
After launching the dashboard feature, Soundation plans to continue developing the education platform, working to integrate classroom management platform Google Classroom. Soundation Education is compliant with COPPA, FERPA, and GDPR, making its resources as secure as possible.
